Jack is honored to work as the Official Photographer of The Steve Waugh Foundation.
The foundation was established by former Australian Test cricket captain Steve Waugh and his wife Lynette, to assist children with rare diseases and conditions which do not fall into mainstream care.
The Steve Waugh Foundation will support 0–25 year olds.
It will specifically target sick, disabled, neglected, abused children, street kids or youths from educationally, economically and/or emotionally disadvantaged situations.
Trust Purposes of the Foundation will be “providing financial relief to young people of courage or character in Australia who are in necessitous circumstances”
Waugh himself is the most successful Test cricket captain in the history of the game. He retired from international cricket in 2004, having played 168 Test matches (the most by any player in cricket history) with a batting average of 51.06, having scored over 10,000 runs. He is listed as an Australian Living Treasure and in 2004 was named Australian of the Year.
The foundation's annual fundraising event, The Forever Green Dinner, held at Sydney's Hordern Pavillion in February, this year raised over $1 million dollars. Guest performers on the night included: Jimmy Barnes, Human Nature, an Alex Perry Fashion show and The Australian Youth orchestra.
